We are delighted to introduce you to a very special project that aims to sustainably beautify our living environment and strengthen the community: The urban farming project "Ackerpause", which will start in spring 2025 in cooperation with the MehrGenerationenHaus and with the professional support of field coaches from AckerCompany GmbH.
What is Ackerpause?
Ackerpause is a community gardening project that focuses on ecological principles. It offers us the opportunity to transform unused land into flourishing gardens, promoting ecological gardening, sustainability and biodiversity. With the support of AckerCoaches, this project will accompany all participants throughout the season - from the initial planning to the harvest.
Where is the garden being created?
The project will be implemented on the green space in front of the building entrance at Sertoriusring 323 in Mainz-Finthen. Raised beds, arable land, irrigation systems and storage space for gardening tools are provided by GWH - free of charge for all participants, of course.
Professional support through workshops
Field coaches are on hand to help you get the best out of your garden. Throughout the year, they offer several workshops and regular field consultations where you can learn everything you need to know about sustainable cultivation methods, organic gardening and the right way to treat nature. Whether you are a beginner or already have gardening experience - the coaches will support you on your way to a sustainable garden.

Anyone who is interested in gardening, nature and community exchange is very welcome! Whether you have a lot or little experience - everyone is invited to get involved and learn from each other. Together with you, we would like to bring a piece of nature back into the residential environment in Mainz-Finthen and at the same time promote a sense of community.
