Climate-friendly building stock
Further strengthen our commitment to climate action.
Climate change also presents the housing sector with new challenges. That is why we are examining the impacts of our business activities, as well as the resulting risks and opportunities for future development. With approximately 53,000 residential units, GWH’s building portfolio provides a key starting point for relevant climate protection measures. Based on this, we have developed a decarbonization strategy that specifically outlines our contribution to an energy-efficient and lower-emission building portfolio.
From energy-efficient renovations of existing buildings to new construction meeting the KfW 55 standard (or better) and resource-efficient infill development that minimizes the sealing of new land, all the way to the use of renewable energy, we are implementing these measures step by step. At the same time, we are preparing our existing portfolio for the necessary adaptations to climate change and continuing to develop it in this direction.
Together, we are creating living environments that are resilient to climate change.
Livable housing and neighborhood development
Developing good housing and neighborhoods.
Housing is about more than just individual apartments. As a real estate company, we help strengthen and enhance social cohesion and quality of life in our GWH neighborhoods.
Our neighborhood development initiatives are tailored to the diverse needs of the people living in our large neighborhoods and create appropriate local services. Together with social and charitable partners, we develop a living environment that meets residents’ needs, strengthens community life, and fosters a sense of neighborhood. In doing so, we implement targeted measures to make efficient use of available resources and achieve tangible improvements for our tenants.
Together, we create neighborhoods worth living in.
Attractive working environment
Promote attractive working conditions.
As an employer of over 600 employees, we are committed to providing safe, healthy, and fair working conditions where we nurture and value the individual potential of our employees.
Our corporate value of “fairness” guides our actions: We actively involve our employees and promote an inclusive, equitable work environment. To this end, we foster a corporate culture that supports work-life balance and takes into account the different stages of life. Since 2009, we have been using the berufundfamilie audit to continuously refine our initiatives.
Together, we create meaningful work.
Future-oriented corporate management
Creating long-term value.
Our strategic focus on sustainability is a key foundation for ensuring that GWH remains successful in the future. Through targeted, long-term investments, we maintain the financial strength needed to continuously drive the sustainable development of our group.
Through targeted innovation, we are developing an attractive residential portfolio and leveraging the potential of digitalization in building technology and business processes. Our compliance system helps us ensure ethical and fair business practices throughout the entire value chain.
Together, we are shaping a long-term and economically stable path for the company.
