Tenants' Festival in Rath: " Gather Höfe " Bring New Energy

Thanks to the new construction projects in Düsseldorf-Rath, the neighborhood has undergone a significant transformation in recent years. On the site of the former Paguag hose factory, the Gather Höfe—commissioned by GWH Wohnungsgesellschaft—have created a new, urban neighborhood in the northeastern part of the state capital that combines living, working, and leisure in a modern way and represents a tangible asset for the city.
With a large tenants' festival, GWH highlighted the sense of community in the neighborhood and officially introduced itself and the new neighborhood office to the tenants.
The new buildings on the former industrial site in northern Düsseldorf—featuring a total of 492 modern and attractive 1- through 5-room apartments—were in exceptionally high demand even before completion, and most had already been rented out by the developer before the official handover—in some cases, even without a viewing. For GWH, this is proof that housing is definitely in demand even far from the city center. “We demonstrated good judgment in choosing this location and have created a place to live that has a lot to offer,” emphasizes Stefan Herbes, GWH department head in Düsseldorf.
For Kai Fischer, head of the City Planning Office of Düsseldorf, “ Gather Höfe ” is also a successful showcase project: “ Gather Höfe impressively demonstrates how a former industrial site can be transformed into a vibrant, mixed-use urban neighborhood that breathes new life into the Rath district. Particularly successful are the connections to the surrounding neighborhoods via the green spaces and playgrounds, as well as the new pathways—including those leading to the shopping areas around In den Diken Street. The new central playground, serving as the heart of the neighborhood and a hub connecting to other green spaces, not only provides a new gathering place but also pays homage to the area’s history through the preservation of the former Paguag factory clocks.”
