Anyone can find themselves in financial difficulties overnight through no fault of their own. Tenants who are at risk of losing their home due to job loss, accident, illness, rent/utility cost increases or personal misfortune can receive short-term assistance from GWH with a rent protection fund.
The fund can always step in if no sufficient support can be expected from public authorities. Approved grants to secure rent are released quickly and easily to bridge financial bottlenecks in emergency situations. Depending on the case, this takes the form of one-off payments or regular additional payments.
The impetus for this assistance can come both from the tenants themselves and from GWH employees. GWH sees this commitment as an investment in a sustainable partnership with tenants who were known as long-standing and reliable tenants before the emergency situation arose.
An independent advisory board reviews each application and decides whether and in what form subsidies can be paid. GWH care is a voluntary service provided by GWH, which is why tenants are not entitled to an enforceable application procedure.
In the event of payment difficulties, proposals for GWH care can be submitted both by the tenants themselves and by GWH employees. However, GWH alone is responsible for examining possible emergency situations and submitting applications to the Advisory Board for consideration.
