GWH is participating in the new residential area with 71 rental apartments, 24 of which are publicly subsidized, and is thus celebrating its construction premiere in the Harleshausen district. The topping-out ceremony was attended by Christian Wedler, Managing Director of GWH Bauprojekte, and Ilona Friedrich, Mayor of the City of Kassel.
The GWH Bauprojekte project is one of the largest on the site and is scheduled for completion by mid-2023. The investment volume is 20 million euros.
"Home game! - We have finally succeeded in building new rental apartments at the Harleshausen site, previously a 'blank spot' on the GWH map in Kassel," explains Christian Wedler, Managing Director of GWH Bauprojekte GmbH. "In a location like this, which combines local recreation and infrastructure perfectly, housing should also remain affordable for people on low and medium incomes," adds Wedler.
"More space to build and affordable housing are important for Kassel. The new development area 'Zum Feldlager', in which apartment buildings with a social housing quota of around 34 percent are also being built, meets this need," said Mayor Ilona Friedrich.
Accessibility was also taken into account during construction and is also an important component. Several apartments are fully wheelchair accessible.
The total area is 7,739 square meters, on which the 71 apartments are spread across five apartment buildings. The apartments have a loggia or terrace. The buildings also have 32 parking spaces in underground garages and 30 outdoor parking spaces.
