Together with other partners, GWH and GWH Bauprojekte are building around 1,400 publicly subsidized and privately financed apartments and townhouses on the construction sites of the northern area.
At the topping-out ceremony for the first construction phase, GWH also welcomed Thomas Vielhaber, the city planning officer of the state capital.
The shell of a total of 233 apartments, 60 of which are publicly subsidized, has been completed and is scheduled for completion by Q4/2023. The designs for building plots A1.1 and A1.2 had previously prevailed against the competition in a specially organized architectural competition and were created by Lorenzen Mayer Architekten (Berlin) and Turkali Architekten (Frankfurt). The apartments with a total living space of 15,144 m² include 176 underground parking spaces. The properties are being built to KfW 55 standard and with a photovoltaic system on the roof.
The plans include 1.5 to 4-room apartments and provide living space of between approx. 32 m² and 55 m² for the smaller apartments and approx. 85 m² to 135 m² for the larger ones. All apartments have a balcony, loggia or terrace. After completion, the apartments will be managed by GWH Wohnungsgesellschaft and will expand the portfolio in and around the state capital to around 1,500 apartments.
"It is a unique construction project in this dimension that has been launched in the south-east of Hanover and will take on more and more shape in the coming years," emphasized Christian Wedler, Managing Director of GWH Bauprojekte GmbH, at the small ceremony. "This project can only be realized with a great team, strong partners and excellent cooperation with the employees of the state capital."
